Solid P17 at XCC world Series round 9

Starting in the back of the pack, observing and waiting for the right moments to move up was again a decent tactic in Lake Placid on Fridays XCC race. But the fast course with only few slow corners made it very difficult to overtake many riders at once. Also through the rock garden it was more a gamble than a good line choice that made the difference between gaining or losing positions. Unfortunately I lost count of where I was exactly in the last lap. So I gave away one spot to easily because I thought I was around P20 when in fact I was on P16. Finishing on the 17th spot is still quite ok, although I always ride for more. The third row start on Sunday is also not to bad and the course is quite open as well, so I hope for a good XCO race coming up.
